Book Week

What a fantastic Book Week we have had! The week started off on Tuesday with a full day visit from the Story Crowd, where authors Louise Park & Sandy Fussell and illustrator Jules Faber inspired us with their tips for writing a great story, and shared some of their work with us. Jules Faber taught everyone how to draw WeirDo and drew caricatures of some of the teachers! It was great sharing the experience with some students from Tarrawanna and Bellambi Public Schools as well. Students also had the opportunity to purchase books and get autographs from their favourite author/ illustrator of the day. It certainly was a pleasure watching the excitement as students got to meet their favourite writers in person. Book Week continued on Wednesday with our annual Book Character Parade. The students (and teachers!) looked absolutely fantastic in their costumes. It was great to see so many creative ideas. Everyone I spoke to was able to explain what book they came from, no matter how simple their costume. Thank you to everyone for getting involved in the day, and dressing up.
