Early intervention (EI)
The Program
Early Intervention (EI) offers specialised play-based programs and support for young children ages 3 – 5 years who have a disability or learning support need. The program is developed in line with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) in accordance with the National Quality Framework for early childhood education.
Early Intervention (EI) at Towradgi Public School offers play-based early intervention and school readiness programs delivered by trained staff. A collaborative team approach with parents/carers, agency and NDIS consultation work toward Personalised Learning and Support Plans to support each child’s individual needs.
Session Services
You child will attend face to face sessions each week of the school term at Towradgi Public School. The Early Intervention Teacher will work alongside families, preschool and other therapists to support your child's goals in preparation for school.

Referrals
Referrals may be made by:
- the child’s parent or carer
- other professionals with the permission of the child’s parent or carer.
Access to the department's early intervention program is through the Access Request process. Access Request forms are submitted to a placement panel for consideration. Parents are notified by the school when the panel has an outcome.
Once a child has been offered an early intervention placement arrangements relating to in session or resource timetables are organised by school staff in collaboration with families/carers.
Parents should approach the Principal of their local school regarding application to Early Intervention services.

Assisted Travel to School Program
The Department of Education Assisted School Travel Program (ASTP) plays a significant role in meeting the needs of eligible students with disability by providing free specialised transport to and from school where parents and carers are unable to provide or arrange transport for the student either fully or in part.
Applications for this program to deem if you are eligible are made through your school after accepting an offered position in the Early Intervention session placement.
